SUMMARY:Maldon Barge Trip
DESCRIPTION:A two hours sail on board a Thames Sailing Barge will include a Ploughmans lunch. These historic barges have been an iconic sight around the East Anglian Coast for at least 150 years and with their ability to nose their way into small creeks and inlets and also take on the often stormy North Sea on their journeys around the coast\, and trading in and out of London. Before the making of the modern road system they were the trading lifeline for the coastal part of our County. \nWe will be on a vessel converted for cruising with modern facilities but it must be emphasized that this trip is only suitable for those with full normal mobility\, wearing suitable clothing and flat shoes must be worn. \nSailing time will be approximately midday and passengers should be available for boarding 45 minutes before that time ie 11.15am on Monday 4th of July 2016\, all timing is however dependent on the tide. All food is home made and is prepared either on broad on in the Riverside Kitchen and the menu is cheese and Ham Ploughmans followed by Apple and Blackberry Crumble and cream. Tea and coffee can be bought at the bar\, also something stronger should you feel the need! \nWe hope that you will join us for this chance to see the wildlife and the lovely views from the water\, from the deck of your own sailing barge. \nThe price is £39.00 and parking (pay machine) is available nearby. \n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:A full day of dance and fun!  This is for all shapes\, sizes\, ages and fitness levels. Learn 3 great dances.  In the morning you will learn Burlesque.  It’s a really fun and friendly way to get fit\, build confidence and to find that inner you.  Your tutor will take you through the classic moves and then teach you a short and sassy routine. “Ready for more?” You will then be eased gently into the Eastern Promise Belly Dance where you will learn the basic movements of Belly Dance\, which is a healing and therapeutic dance form using hip\, body and arm movements in harmony with the music. \nAfter lunch get ready for your BOLLYWOOD DANCE class.  Bollywood Dance is easy on the eye. Dramatic facial expressions and cinematic pizzazz means anyone can follow the story. DESCRIPTION:We will make our own way to the BBC Broadcasting House in Portland Place\, where our tour will begin at 1pm. (Portland Place is just 3 minutes from Oxford Circus Underground and 6 minutes from Gt Portland Street Station) The tour will last 1.5 hours where the entertaining and informative guide will bring to life the work of the new\, state of the art\, multimedia broadcasting centre in the heart of London. \nThis will be followed by afternoon tea in the BBC Club nearby\, leaving your refreshed for your journey home or\, if you feel up to it\, take in a show or shopping. \nThe are limited numbers for this trip and therefore only available to WI Members. \n  \nTickets are £25.00 from the WI Centre. \nClosing Date 22/1/2016

DESCRIPTION:Normally a Friday but not on this occasion is the very popular and normally oversubscribed New Speakers Day! \n  \nWe look forward to seeing you at the New Speakers Day at the WI Centre\, Whitelands\, Terling Road\, Hatfield Peverel\, CM3 2AG which we have arranged for Thursday 26th February 2016. There will be five or six different speakers who will give a shortened version of their usual presentations. As always there will be an opportunity to ask questions and to complete a short questionnaire giving your thoughts about the speakers’ suitability for WI meetings. \n  \nDo come along on Thursday 25th February from 10.00am for coffee with a 10.30am start to 3.30pm at the WI Centre. Tickets cost £7.00 each\, (including tea and coffee on arrival and during lunch only) are available from the WI Centre.  Please bring a packed lunch.
