DESCRIPTION:Using one stitch this workshop will give participants the opportunity to creatively design and stitch a series of sample vignettes under the experienced tutorship of Karen Odinga. This is your chance to explore the basic embroidery stitches in a brand new way that is unique to you. At the end of the day you will have a number of samples and ideas for mounting and displaying these. \n\n \n\n\nThe session is suitable for both beginners and experienced needlewomen. Mandy draws on her experiences with working in a team of elite fighter jet pilots. The importance of maintaining a calm demeanour under pressure\, as well as leading from the front to achieve the best results from one’s team.  Mandy has overcome great hurdles in her career. These experiences led her to co-found Inspiring Women for Work\, an organization that helps women rebuild the confidence they need to return to work and realise their full potential after a career break. \nThe Afternoon entertainment will be West End Rat Pack!! \nWe will have Country Markets\, a variety of stalls for retail therapy and a bumper raffle    !! SUMMARY:Make a Faux Chenille Bag
DESCRIPTION:Come along and create a beautiful faux chenille bag. Pieces of different colored material are layered and machined together and the technique produces a wonderful textured finish and a very stylish bag. Our tutor will be Anne Bullman. Chenille is the French word for caterpillar which the technique is said to resemble. \nYou will need to bring a sewing machine and your own choice of cotton fabric. A rotary cutter is also essential (a full list of requirement wills be sent out with your ticket). \nTea and coffee will be provided but please bring a lunch with you. \nClosing date 12 September \nTicket price £16.50

DESCRIPTION:The Civic Hall\, Blackshots Lane\, Grays\, Essex RM16 2JU \nFriday 13 October 2017 \nDoors open 9.30am for 10.30am – 15:30pm \nWe can now confirm that our guests for the Autumn County Meeting  will be the “West End Jerseys” and Steve Scruton. \nSTEVE SCRUTON:Steve’s involvement in radio began in the mid 1970’s with Hospital Radio Chelmsford where he volunteered for over 15 years. During that time he became chairman for 10 years\, was elected president\, and continues to be an honorary member. \n\nAfter working in studio production with local commercial radio\, Steve was invited to join BBC Essex in 1988. He produced and presented the weekday afternoon show for 22 years along with production and presentation of weekend programmes. During that time he was a leading producer and presenter of the station’s outside broadcasts. \nSteve worked to forge links between BBC Essex and outside organisations bringing the BBC closer to many local communities. He has presented countless stage shows and concerts both outdoors and within theatre\, and has hosted numerous events for local groups. \nWEST END JERSEYS:This Jersey Boys Tribute Band is fast becoming one of the most-renowned acts of its kind in the UK. \nIn the last three years\, The Jersey Boys Tribute Band has become the most sought after act within the corporate market. It was only a matter of time before Magnetic Theatre Limited\, with their access to some of the West End’s finest voices\, launched WEST END JERSEYS. \nWEST END JERSEYS secured their first booking on 4th December 2015\, and since then it has been absolutely non-stop.
