SUMMARY:BEASTS OF BAYEUX - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:C&CC are pleased to offer this Hybrid workshop with Nik Ravenscroft.   Nik will be Zooming in to WI Centre so you could join from home\, or come to WI centre to join other stitchers. The focus of the workshop is Bayeux stitch which is the main stitch used to great effect in the Bayeux tapestry and is also used by contemporary embroiderers. The workshop will use Bayeux stitch and stem stitch in Appleton’s wool to create lively mediaeval-inspired creatures\, based on images from early textiles and the Bayeux Tapestry. You will select one from four possible designs\, and each kit includes all the materials you need to complete the design. You’ll need your own 8” hoop.  Bayeux stitch is not a difficult stitch to learn; if you are a beginner\, but can thread a needle\, you should find this a good introduction to embroidery.

SUMMARY:Inter WI Darts Tournament 2023-2024
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 23/24 season of FEWI’s darts tournament.  The year’s tournament is being co-ordinated by The Brentwood Belles and we are very grateful for their help and expertise. \nTeam captains should sign up their team on TicketSource and their WI will be invoiced separately.  WIs can have as many teams as they wish at £16 per team.  \nEach team should consist of four paid-up members. Individual players may only play for one team throughout the tournament and may not swap teams or play for two teams mid-tournament\, even if both teams belong to the same WI. Each player must have their own darts. \nThe final will be held at the Bardswell Social Club\, CM14 4TJ\, on 8th May 2024 at 7.30pm. \nThe full rules\, fixtures and results throughout the tournament can be found here www.wiessexdarts.weebly.com  \nIn the first round\, teams will be put into groups based on location where possible.  Please note that if your WI enters more than one team we will try to allocate each team to a separate group.  The result of this is that you are likely to have to travel further to games around Essex.  If you indicate on your application that you can only play local matches this may cause difficulties with the group allocations so we appreciate you all being as flexible as possible with travelling to matches. \nTHIS IS A MEMBER ONLY TOURNAMENT \n
