DESCRIPTION:AN INTRODUCTION TO IKEBANA \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nSaturday 7th May 2016. \n10am to 3pm\, doors open at 9.45am\, tickets £30.00 \nIkebana\, the Japanese art of flower arrangements\, dates back to cover 500 years and is still practiced as a highly respected cultural art form in modern day Japan. Unlike conventional flower arrangements\, which emphasizes on colour and the bloom of different flowers set in a vase\, Ikebana pays attention to the overall line and form of all plant material used\, and emphasizes minimalism and asymmetry. \nOur tutor\, Sarah Swallow\, will aim to provide a practical and pleasurable introduction to this at the workshop. All materials will be provided and you will be able to take home your arrangement. \nTea and coffee will be provided\, please bring a packed lunch. \nClosing date for this workshop is the 9th of April. \n

DESCRIPTION:COOKERY AND CREATIVE CRAFTS COMMITTEE \n  \nRag Rugging \n20th May 2016 \n10 – 4 doors open at 9.45 \nEssexFederation \n£25.00 \n \nRag Rugging \n  \nJoin in this class with Lynne Sharpe from The Make It Room and learn how to make your own rag rugs. You will be taught rag rugging techniques which will allow you to go home and create your own fabulous soft furnishings. We will supply the tools for you to use and plenty of fabrics\, however\, if you have a particular colour scheme in mind\, you are very welcome to bring your own material to use. If you would like to continue this technique at home and you do not have the relevant tools you will be able to purchase them from the tutor on the day. \nThe picture is representative of the project when finished. \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners. \n  \nTutor will supply tools to use and materials \nTea and Coffee is provided. Please bring a packed lunch
