DESCRIPTION:POSH LUNCH AT SAXON HALL\, SOUTHEND ON SEA \nWednesday 12th October 2016 \nIt is some time since we held a Posh Lunch\, as we felt that early \nAutumn would be a good time to hold another. It will be held at  Saxon Hall\, Aviation Way\, Southend on Sea\, SS2 6UN. \nThe menu will be Chicken Supreme followed by a Summer Fruit \nRoulade\, tea and coffee and mints. A Vegetarian option will be available on prior request. There is a bar available serving wine or non-alcoholic drinks to order. \nOur entertainment will be given by The Show Choir  who are well known in the Southend area. \nThe two special Denman Bursaries advertised in the April edition of \nEssex News will be drawn at the end of the afternoon\, as will the special raffle. \nDo come and join us\, these lunches are very happy events and meeting other members is so enjoyable. \nDoors open at 12.30pm for lunch at 1.00pm and we leave at approx. 3.45pm. Tickets are £28.00 per person. \n  \nThe closing date for this event is the 7th of September 2016 \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? \nFamily History Days for you to start your Family Tree. \n  \nWednesday 21st September and Wednesday 19th October 2016 \n  \nMany of us have watched the TV programmes and have wondered where do I come from\, or how do I get started on my family tree?  Help is at hand with our first \nfamily history course. \n  \nThe first day (21st September) will be at the WI Centre and we will be looking at getting started with what is already known\, looking at various websites and learning how to draw up a family tree. \n  \nOur second day (19th October) is a visit to the Essex Record Office where we will be able to see how a record office works and what it can offer the family historian. \n  \nThis two day course costs £25.  It could lead to an interesting journey and who knows what relationships we may find. \n  \nPlease bring a packed lunch on both days and money for car parking in Chelmsford on 19th October.  Notebook and pencils will also be required.  \nLet’s delve into history!
