7th May 2016 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
AN INTRODUCTION TO IKEBANA
Saturday 7th May 2016.
10am to 3pm, doors open at 9.45am, tickets £30.00
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangements, dates back to cover 500 years and is still practiced as a highly respected cultural art form in modern day Japan. Unlike conventional flower arrangements, which emphasizes on colour and the bloom of different flowers set in a vase, Ikebana pays attention to the overall line and form of all plant material used, and emphasizes minimalism and asymmetry.
Our tutor, Sarah Swallow, will aim to provide a practical and pleasurable introduction to this at the workshop. All materials will be provided and you will be able to take home your arrangement.
Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring a packed lunch.
Closing date for this workshop is the 9th of April.
