Do you want to hear about millinery and its local history, and learn how to make something beautiful and meaningful?
Milliner Susan Widlake will firstly give a new talk ‘One Hundred Years of Hat Making – tools, materials and techniques’.
Then after a break you will create a poppy from leather. Simple but messy, you will learn how to stiffen and shape the poppy petals and put them together to make either a brooch, corsage or to add to a fascinator. Suitable for anyone – you will have to get your hands sticky so if you don’t like mess this isn’t for you!
Bring a packed lunch and a mug for your tea/coffee.
