BEASTS OF BAYEUX – CANCELLED

C&CC are pleased to offer this Hybrid workshop with Nik Ravenscroft.   Nik will be Zooming in to WI Centre so you could join from home, or come to WI centre to join other stitchers. The focus of the workshop is Bayeux stitch which is the main stitch used to great effect in the Bayeux tapestry and is also used by contemporary embroiderers. The workshop will use Bayeux stitch and stem stitch in Appleton’s wool to create lively mediaeval-inspired creatures, based on images from early textiles and the Bayeux Tapestry. You will select one from four possible designs, and each kit includes all the materials you need to complete the design. You’ll need your own 8” hoop.  Bayeux stitch is not a difficult stitch to learn; if you are a beginner, but can thread a needle, you should find this a good introduction to embroidery.
