CRAFT DABBLE DAY

We last dabbled together in 2019 so we are delighted to announce that we will be dabbling again at WI centre.

This day will consist of two crafts for you to participate in – a Dorset button and a Fabric Flower Brooch, as well as a baking demonstration and a soup and cake lunch.

Dot Reed will be tutor as you learn to make a Dorset button. These buttons which were first made in Dorset in the 1600s and continued to be made by women at home until machines took over in the 1800’s. The button will be made using the cartwheel pattern and once completed, can be used as an embellishment for clothing or as a part of craft work.

Julie Alen is the tutor for the Fabric Flower brooch. All materials will be provided for both these crafts and an instruction sheet provided.

The third activity will be watching a master baker at work. Angela Flynn will be demonstrating scone making with plenty of tips and ideas for achieving a successful and scrumptious offering. A recipe sheet will be provided.

Lunch will be soup, accompanied by scones and a piece of cake.
