EDEN’S KEEPERS – the story of Gardens, Love and WI by acclaimed author Sarah Barclay
25th January 2023 @ 8:00 pm
£5Sarah Barclay is a journalist and author, having had a column in You Magazine and various other publications. She has been researching and writing Eden’s Keepers which is about Nancy Tennant who was born in Ugley, and, after the first World War, devoted herself to music and to the Women’s Institute, which was a new organisation at the time. As Music Organiser from 1938 of the Federation of Women’s Institutes, her enthusiasm led to the creation of WI choirs from all around the country. She played a prominent part in the life of the Women’s Institute, and a Blue Plaque is due to be erected in her honour in Ugley.
Sarah is an experienced and exciting speaker who is passionate about the relationship of her distant cousin Nancy. Join us on this Zoom meeting and find out all about the true love story behind the creation of acclaimed gardens, and the part she played in our Women’s Institute.
