Get into Golf Day at Frinton Links Golf Club

As part of our sponsorship scheme, FEWI has teamed up with Essex Golf Ltd, Frinton on Sea WI and the Frinton Links Golf Club to offer Essex members and their relatives the chance to have a go at the sport of golf with the aim of encouraging more ladies to take up the sport.

Essex Golf are subsidising this event to make it affordable for all and we are very grateful for their support.  If this event is well supported by our WI members we will continue to hold similar events at other clubs around the county.  If you are interested in this event but somewhere else in Essex, please email admin@essexwi.org.uk and advise us which area of the county you would like us to try and organise.

The event schedule will be as follows:-

• Arrival around 10.30/11am (tba depending on final numbers) for tea/coffee and pastries
• Meet PGA professionals, Essex Golf county officials and some of our Federation Trustees
• Lessons until around 3.30pm
• Option extra of an Afternoon Tea in the clubhouse at 4pm

Free parking on site.  If both car parks are full then there is free parking on The Esplanade and side rows. Please do not park in the hatched areas of Second Avenue you’ll likely get a ticket.

Dress code is relaxed – suitable footwear, trainers or golf shoes, and comfortable sports attire.
Equipment – if you are able to bring a set of suitable clubs then please do so but equipment will be available to borrow if you are a complete beginner!
Experience – this day is aimed at novices and complete beginners but if you are already a golfer but you would like a family member to get to know the sport in a friendly, relaxed way then please do book yourselves up.
Weather – Unless there is a particularly horrendous forecast the event will go ahead as planned so please bring appropriate clothing if rain is forecast.
Under 18s – If you are booking for someone under 18, please note that they must be accompanied by a participating WI Member who will be responsible for their safety and well-being while taking part in the event, and they should not be left unsupervised at any time.

This event is for Essex members and their family members only.

• Please note that Frinton on Sea WI are holding their annual golf day on the same date.  This will be an 18 hole individual stableford tournament.  Please contact Frinton on Sea WI on m.viv48@gmail.com to take part.
