STRAW PLAITING WITH PAUL LEWIS

Straw plaiting is a heritage craft and we are pleased to welcome Paul, a master thatcher to lead this workshop. This is the first time we have offered this craft at WI centre. Your day will start with preparing the straw to enable it to be plaited. The techniques of plaiting, joining the straw and increasing and decreasing will be taught during the day. You will go home with a couple of your own unique projects. All the materials needed for the workshop are included in the price but you do need to bring scissors and of course your lunch and mug. This promises to be an interesting and inspiring day learning a heritage craft from an experienced thatcher.
